THE LONG BIO
Kairos is an alternative rock band formed in San Marcos, TX in 2017 and is now based in Austin, TX. Founded by Jacob Garrigus (Vocals/Guitar) and Brent Miller (Vocals/Bass/Keys) during their time at Texas State University, the pair quickly became inspired to create a limitless rock sound extracting from surf, punk and indie influences. Drummer, Jake Davila, joined the duo and Kairos was complete. The trio quickly became known for their electric live performances and continued to ride that wave into new audiences while touring Southwest and Southeast regions of America.
In 2017 Kairos released their first EP ‘Cuatro’ and have released singles and EPs continuously since. 2022 brought their latest project Kairos a self-titled LP that captured their magnetic energy folks might find at one of their live shows and made it accessible to audiences worldwide. “We felt as though this collection of songs is to date the most accurate and authentic representation of who we are, captured in an audio recording” says Brent Miller. The album was produced by Dan Flynn (producer of Our Last Daze, Slow Pulse, Tough on Fridays) at Studios at Fischer.
2023 will see the musicians and songwriters perform to wider audiences across the US and international regions. The trio has already begun writing their next album and plans to get into the studio later in the year. Kairos showcases a group that is confident and electrifies audiences, forging trust in friendship alongside musicianship over years of creating music together.

"My “I don’t know what to listen to” day is continuing and I feel like nothing that I put on is hitting the spot so that means time to dig into some new music and this time it’s coming in hot from Kairos in the form of their track “Million To One”.
This song is instantly catchy. Everything from the guitars to the drums and all the way to the vocals, this is one of those tracks that gets stuck in your head upon first listen. I love the movement throughout the track. There are moments that remind me a bit of Fall of Troy, others that remind me of The Strokes, and some that have an almost Fall Out Boy quality to them. It’s really all over the place and all of the places that this song goes are perfect.
Although I wouldn’t call this aggressive or in your face in any way, there’s something just a bit abrasive about “Million to One” as if the band is threatening you to turn off or change the song and I loved that element. Maybe I’m just reading into it or making things up but it was an aspect of this track that seemed to just be the cherry on top."
AMERICAN
PANCAKE
"With an electric guitar lick that feels like a glorious and spicy hybridized version of Andalusian Spanish Arabic music (or something like that), equally arresting bass and drum grooves, cool Farfisa-esque organ down beats and cool handsome vox that feel sort of 90's post grunge meets 60's surf bohemian will make you seriously want to vibe to "Push and Serve" by Austin, Texas three piece surf rockers Kairos. I just spent 15 minutes with this track on repeat while watching outrageous You Tube surf videos on mute and I feel pleasantly drenched."
METAL
JUNKBOX
"The band manages to deliver a very modern, interesting, heavy and very well produced sound!
The song that introduced us to the band was Pretty Pretty, a composition full of energy and good riffs, all combined with a good voice that manages to deliver a good song! We have talented musicians here, gifted with a good creative capacity and who know how to captivate their audience. Recommended!"
